About the event
Feijoada is a traditional Brazilian dish made from black beans slow-cooked with pork and spices, served with white rice, farofa (toasted cassava flour), collard greens, and orange slices. It’s hearty, rich, and full of flavour — Brazil’s most iconic comfort food. 🍛🇧🇷
The flavours develop over hours of gentle cooking, allowing the beans to absorb the smoky and savoury essence of the meat, creating a thick, comforting stew with a deep, satisfying taste.
Traditionally, Feijoada is served with white rice, which balances the richness of the beans, and farofa, a toasted cassava flour mixture that adds texture and enhances the flavour. A side of cooked collard greens (couve) provides freshness and a pleasant bittersweet contrast, while orange slices are served to aid digestion and add a bright, citrusy finish. Together, these elements create a perfect balance of flavours and textures: creamy, smoky, crunchy, and refreshing.
Feijoada is more than just…
